One of the most highly & consistently asked question has been, “What do you use to edit your Instagram photos?” To be entirely honest i’ve been avoiding this question for one obvious reason…. I wanted to keep these apps a secret, but there comes a day when you realize that being selfish gets you nowhere.

The Berlin-based photo-sharing app EyeEm announced that it had signed a deal with Getty Images that would allow for its members to sell their work - a major milestone for the three-year old company as it will now finally be able to turn a profit.

EyeEm recently came back to the limelight and now the company is being picked up by Getty Images. With this sort of pickup prepare to see this app being advertised about.

Move over Flipagram, there’s a new smartphone app in town determined to trick out our Instagram feeds. The StackMotion app not only allows users to create slideshows including up to 100 images, it also utilizes green-screen technology to superimpose photos on top of each other.

Talk about picking up game, here is the competitor to Flipagram the StackMotion App. Using a green-screen technology to switch out images between photos...that is only if you don't like a certain aspect of the image. Say a blurry face or a lake that doesn't seem to shimmer just how you want it to. Switch them out for a better photo and there you have it!

his year I haven't seen a ton of new apps, so thought I'd write up what I'm using to keep up with what's happening at SXSW and see if any of you have any recommendations.

Photoshop, from time to time is just seen to be used for improving images. However, when it comes down to it you can create a layout app design that either you could sell or use for your own personal use. Creating interface elements is the first step to actually creating an interactive app.

VSCO Cam is excellent for editing your images with an intuitive interface and precise tools, but the new Instagram-like photo feed is lacking in features.

It never hurts to read a few reviews before you decide to choose an app that will become your main editing tool. VSCO Cam has been out since last year. However you will want to read this if you've ever had any problem with "The Grid".

I get the question all the time about how I edit my photos, so I thought it was about time that I did a whole post on Tadaa, the App I use to edit all my photos for Instagram and the blog. Tadaa is a photo sharing App – like Instagram – but it also happens to be one of the best photo editing apps I’ve come across.

Photography sharing site 500px has finally added mobile uploads to its iOS app, answering one of the loudest feature requests among users. The app, billed as a way for professional photographers to showcase their work while on the move, had previously worked in browse-only mode, showing galleries and allowing for comments but no actual new content to be uploaded.

500px has added mobile uploads to its app. So it doesn't matter now whether it's a DSLR format for from your iPhone.

A new app called 'Flag' is exploding on Kickstarter today, and it's based on a very simple premise. The app will print and mail you museum quality, 220 gsm prints of 20 photos per month absolutely free... just as long as you allow them to place advertisements on the usually-blank back side of the photo.

No catch, when usually there tends to be one. Flag will not disappoint you, one bit. You receive 20 photos per month at no charge, and maybe the only real catch would be that they have to place an ad on the back of that photo. But anyone could live with that.
