Israel-based Slidely, which claims 50 million users across several image apps, recently closed $7.3 million in funding but it was something of a mystery what the cash was actually for. They did say they would produce an iMovie-like app, which is now revealed to be called “Show,” now on iTunes.

Today, Google has announced a new set of features for its Google+ Photos for Android app. Two of the features included in the update are the ability to create animated GIFs from a collection of photos, as well as the ability to create a custom collage.

Snapchat is joining the game of adding features that involve the filters aspect of the app in a personalized way. That is allowing brands to add their logo onto a photo. And in this case if you are pictured for VICE you'll have the choice to add that logo.

Bringing their philosophy of doing one thing well to iOS, Golden Hour is an extremely minimal, beautifully designed app that alerts photographers when the most sought-after time of day is upon them.

Thousands they say and they are exactly right. AFilter for a limited time is free when the usual $1.99 would be your purchase. Not taking this offer up would be bad on your part, however these freebies means time to play around with some new photo editing software.

Snapchat got a bit more useful today with the release of two new features: the ability to chat with your friends in real time via text, and video. There’s no need to switch to iMessage to continue that conversation or to schedule a Skype date. “It stops the conversation and makes it a transaction, rather than free-flowing.” Yes, free-flowing conversation.

Today, Yahoo! has announced its biggest overhaul to the mobile Flickr experience yet. Appropriately sporting the 3.0 version name, this new Flickr experience turns what was once an attempt to bring the browser version of Flickr to mobile devices into an Entirely new experience.

The updates for PhotoToaster have come in. While you still have to pay the $2.99 for the app it has been upgraded to a 6.0 version. Offering the already variety of opportunities to edit the image in any way you want, giving this one a second look could be your best bet.
