"This news might not be very relevant to most of you, but Adobe has announced that future versions of Photoshop will not be compatible with Windows XP. The Photoshop team would like to provide advanced notice that Photoshop CS6 (13.0) will be the last major version of Photoshop to support Windows XP. (Photoshop CS6 does not support Windows Vista.) In addition, all subsequent Photoshop feature updates specifically for Creative Cloud members will no longer support Windows XP."

Do you have Windows XP? If you have Windows 7, you'll be safe with Photoshop but those XP users...may want to switch.

Although Adobe has constantly been enhancing Photoshop with some magical new tools and commands, there are a lot of pretty awesome third party plugins that can perform some serious stuff that you still can’t achieve with Photoshop itself. Fortunately some of them are absolutely free. Take a look at this list of excellent free Photoshop plugins that will let you achieve some cool special effects and image enhancement.

Chromatic aberration is also referred to as fringing around high contrast edges in your photography. It does cause poorer image quality, but can be fixed.

You may not even know you have aberration, but once you want a close up of your photograph, the color and detail become soft and blur together.

Seashore is an open source image editor for Cocoa. It features gradients, textures and anti-aliasing for both text and brush strokes. It supports multiple layers and alpha channel editing. It is based around the GIMP’s technology and uses the same native file format.
